GIVE THIS HOTEL A WIDE BERTH-total disgrace

totally misled by write-up online.to us looked as though hotel was easy to get to from airport last Sunday evening .when picked up 3 day travel pass at railway station phone number was wrong/so staff member typed out a route for us-both in our 80's.about an hour later and 2 trains arrived at a halt-nobody about .luckily 2 students knew where we had to get to.OH DEAR what a set-up.so called 4*-maybe 30 years ago .air conditioning did not work/no 2 pin shaver point/mirror light failed/no milk/no spoon/outside windows & supports filthy/100mm top mattress!!/duvet far too small/told to get hot water for shower to turn fully on-then adjust/no sink plug.Dinner prices crazy so walked out .scrambled eggs/bacon/tomatoes tepid-at best both mornings/never worked coffee pod machine.When checking out looked at joke top "mattress" to find underneath badly stained plus cigarette holes. Have written to their CEO with mattress photo. SUGGEST ONE GIVES PLACE A WIDE BERTH. Not amused. Also advised tourist office.

Location 2 Cleanliness 4 Facilities 2 Horrible bed very uncomfortable 2 singles pushed together Clean and tidy hotel KFC and Burger King across the road Nearest station 15 mins walk away from hotel No bars or clubs nearby Tourist tax for 3 nights for 2 people was €55 Can get better and closer hotels to Dam square

AWFUL HOTEL - very rude manager avoid. We arrived at 7pm and their wifi was ‘down’ and we couldn’t check in until 10:45 - we were offered no drinks - I had to ask for refreshments; the manager couldn’t have cared less - we weren’t given any updates and offered no refund - I’ve complained to the hotel about this

I don’t even know where to start. I booked this as a birthday gift for my husband, I paid for breakfast and when it came to breakfast time it was absolutely disgusting! Had me feeling ill all day! The rooms are not clean, the “deluxe double room” is not a double and it’s no where near deluxe either! It’s 2 single beds pushed together with what I can only describe as prison mattresses with toppers on. Very unsteady and very easy to fall out of bed! 1 small pillow each with no spare in the cupboard. All you get is paper cups and when the cleaner comes round she doesn’t replace them or even clean up she makes the beds and that’s it. The doors are caked in dust at the top! The shower is constantly hot and cold, it looks nice but it’s not worth the price you pay! Toilet roll is like sandpaper and there is no soap or shampoo to use, not helpful if you travel hand luggage! Restaurant closes at 10, if you’re hungry they hate you going over the road for some food and bringing it back. I also witnessed a giant rat in the car park which also made me feel uneasy. To make it all better, the heating is stuck! The room keeps getting hotter and hotter and all the staff said is “we will get an engineer to fix this”…. We are still waiting :/ I could say a lot about this place, this hotel has ruined my holiday and I will not be returning in the future. 100% recommend staying in the centre even if it does cost a little more - it’ll be worth it!

the hotel itself was beautiful, amazing interior and exterior. the views from our room was lovely, having a coffee in the morning whilst looking out of the window was beautiful. the downside was quite huge, when we arrived we had to pay a €68 fee for some reason, breakfasts were €18 PER person which i think is purely ridiculous. we refused to have breakfast there as when we went up to look at what was there it was just bread, bacon, eggs, a few pancakes and cold meats. if you bring takeout in you get strange looks from staff. the beds weren't double beds, it was 2 singles pushed together with two single mattress toppers on top. i had to take mine off as i kept falling off the bed in my sleep. Amsterdam is a very expensive place as was this hotel for 4 nights. my partner and i had to pay €15 for a ‘body scrub’ as they ran out of body wash. but the body scrub was pure sugar, and didnt work. i would definitely say that there are better and closer hotels near central amsterdam. overall we did enjoy our stay to some extent and staff were helpful, but the cost and prices of some things were ridiculous. i wouldnt really recommend staying here for more than 2 nights.
